This is just a horrifying, bone-chilling loss for everyone, especially Ranger Anderson's biological family and her law enforcement family. We ALL lost something so precious yesterday.... May God rest her soul and be with her loved ones.

I know Ranger Anderson only through short stories from her mother. Ranger Andersons mother glows and shines in pride when telling stories of her daughter and family. In reading the reflections I understand even more than ever that Ranger Anderson not only made her mother shine with pride but her strong glowing personality touched so many others. I am so fortunate to have known Ranger Anderson through the loving words of her mother. You and your family are in my thoughts.

No amount of words from any of us can ease your grief and suffering at the lost of your wife, mother, and sister officer. But remain strong in your faith and know god as a plan for us all. Take comforted in knowing we will all see Margaret again when we walk the streets of heaven. To the family of Range Margaret Anderson I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. Every law enforcement agency across the country feels you’re lost as well, we to have lost a sister in the fight. So it’s with a heavy heart we send our deepest sympathy to your family and the United States Department of the Interior - National Park Service. My god blesses you and your family. Rest in peace ranger and know you will never be forgotten.

Our family extended beyond our relatives and each other when my husband became a Ranger. We have met so many amazing people in the parks, both state and federal, and have seen many beautiful places. We send love and peace to Eric and the family and hope that all of our combined thoughts surround them and comfort them in this trying time. Our hearts go out to the entire MORA staff family as well. This is a senseless tragedy that we can never understand but instead, can serve to remind us how precious life is and what heroes all LEO's/fire/EMS truly are. (LE wife, NPS)

I am so distressed and sad to learn of Margaret Anderson's tragic death while protecting our beautiful lands and those persons within. It is incomprehensible how this horrific act of violence could be carried out by someone who was charged with the duty of protecting our country. While I don't know the circumstances of the person who committed this crime, I wonder if he had been encouraged to seek treatment as issues began to arise upon his return from Iraq. I send my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to her family.

The senseless death of Ranger Anderson has moved me deeply and I salute her service and celebrate her life.

While I regret that the Federal Government will not put a needle in her murderer's arm on my behalf, I rejoice that it appears the park she defended with her life has exacted its' revenge.

Goodspeed, Ranger Anderson and God's protection and blessings to the her family, friends and colleagues.
