I'm a retired Police Officer from California and a member of POLICE Together We Served. I noticed this post today, and I'd like to share my sympathies with you and your family. I'm acquainted with a Police Officer Loss in that one of my best friends and fellow Police Officers was shot and killed in the line of duty in December 1982. I've not gotten over that. Please accept my condolences, and my prayers to our God to help you with your grief. It's a terrible thing that we have monsters on this earth who ignore precious life and take it. Thank you for your Hero's sacrifice. Such a young and beautiful person. So sorry.

After four years our loss remains acute. Margaret is always in our thought and memories. We just spent Christmas with her brother and sister where many stories and much laughter were shared. We are proud to be her Mom and Dad.
Our daily prayers are for all Law Enforcement Officers that they return home safely at the end of their shifts.

Today is the Autumn Equinox, the first day of Fall and I think of your job, enjoying the beauty of nature, helping to preserve the land. You dedicated your life to protecting not just people but the parks we all take for granted. You are missed and will never be forgotten.

Yesterday was the Winter Solstice and I thought of you, with your job among the beauty of nature. I still think of your sacrifice and pray that God continues to comfort your family. Know that you are missed and the world is a little less bright, without your light shinning. You live on through the land, the trees, the stars, the memories of all Gods goodness.

Margaret,
As Mother's Day approaches I think of how wonderful of a mother you were. Thank you for all your caring words and advice. I sure miss your laugh.
"They that love beyond the world cannot be separated by it. Death cannot kill what never dies. Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas; they live in one another still. This is the comfort of friends, that though they may be said to die, yet their friendship and society are, in the best sense, ever present, because immortal.”

Ranger Margaret Anderson,
When you left us I was scheduled to go to LE Ranger Academy for the NPS. Later in May of the same year I climbed Mount Rainier. While climbing the mountain, it was your sacrifice and service that kept me motivated to reach the top. I attended LE seasonal academy in Flagstaff where you graduated many years ago. On the wall in the lecture hall is a memorial in your honor.
Thank you for your service and dedication. You will always be remembered.

It has been two years since our daughter, Margaret Anderson, a Federal Law Enforcement Park Ranger at Mt. Rainier, was shot and killed in the line of duty (EOW 1-1-12) We were always very proud of Margaret. She was a kind and gentle woman who loved her family and her Lord. "What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8. She is in our thoughts daily and held dearly in our hearts. Our faith, family and friends have been a great comfort. We have read every entry on this site and greatly appreciate your kind words. Thank you for your ongoing thought and prayers.

They bid me
Take my place among them
In the halls of Valhalla
Where thine enemies
Have been vanquished
Where the brave shall live forever
Nor shall we mourn, but rejoice for
Those that have died
The glorious death
There do I see my father
There do I see my mother
My brothers and my sisters
There do I see the line of my people
Back to the beginning

Well we made it to DC! Every stretch of the bike ride, you were on my mind. The memorial was something special, hearing your name vein read, then seeing it on the wall. It's been 12 years since we worked together but I can still see that smile and that laugh you had every day at work. I know you're reading this in heaven. We miss you and will never forget you-- until we meet again...
