I do not know if I ever met Ranger Anderson, but I do know that all of the Rangers I have met have been professional, helpful and wonderfully informed & cheerful ambassadors for the National Parks. Too many times, we visitors forget their law enforcement role and the danger that entails. May Perpetual Light Shine Upon You, Margaret. And, may your family find the Peace that passes all understanding.

My heart breaks for Margaret's young children and her husband and family, and the NPS family. We're all grateful not to be reading about carnage among park visitors that may have arisen if she had not been there to stop the madman. Thank you for your sacrifice. I wish you hadn't needed to make it. I wish for peace for all those you leave behind.

My heart goes out to the Anderson and MRNP families. Such an unthinkable tragedy involving a brave women doing her job in the place that she loved. As a member of the NPS, I was once told that no matter where you are, so long as you are a part of the National Park Service, you are among family. We are all mourning together the loss of such a wonderful life.

My condolences to Ranger Anderson's family, friends and colleagues. Although I did not know her personally, it is evident that she was a terrific person and a valued member of the NPS. As a user of our national parks and visitor to Mt. Ranier NP, I know how hard the rangers work to make the parks safe and enjoyable for all. I thank you, Ms. Anderson, for your service and ultimate sacrifice. May you rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to the family of NPS Ranger Margarat Anderson and her friends and co-workers at the NPS. For many Americans, NPS Rangers are the face of the federal government. It is often overlooked that these brave and skilled professionals face the same dangers as any other law enforcement officer. While words certainly cannot address the loss to Ms. Anderson's family and friends, hopefully it will help them to know that they do not stand alone during these difficult days. Wishing Ranger Eric Anderson and their two daughters peace moving forward.

I was Margaret's Campus Pastor while she was a student at Kansas State University. My husband, Jack, and I were also her Aikido (a Japanese martial art dedicated to conflict resolution) instructors. We spent many hours in conversation with Margaret as she discerned her call to serve as a Park Ranger. I was one of her references as she was vetted for public service and law enforcement. Margaret was one of the most thoughtful, kind, sincere and caring individuals I've met. Her faith was deep and strong and she loved all of her family members and friends. Margaret had a no-nonsense way of dealing with life and I'm certain she responded to that call to intercept the speeding driver with calm, even prayerful, resolve. In loving memory, I offer this post and add my prayers for her parents, Pastor Paul and Dorothy, her siblings Sarah and Peter and her loving husband, Eric and their dear daughters, Anna and Katie and all her friends.

Margaret was such a great person and friend. She worked hard, she loved people, and she gave her all to help others. I am thankful for the memories that I have of her. My prayers are with her friends, family, and especially her husband and daughters she leaves behind. It's difficult to imagine right now, but "we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose" (Rom 8:28). I am praying that the Lord will comfort you during your time of loss in a way that only HE can.

Margaret may be gone, but she will never be forgotten.

Could I possibly say anything that will make the Anderson family, her co-workers and friends feel better? Thankfully, God took Barnes to be tried and judged. No amount of guns, machismo or violence will allow him escape his actions.
My prayers are with Margaret and her family.

Condolences to the family of Park Ranger Anderson; and to the broader NPS family. I love Mt. Rainier NP and have had the opportunity to experience the dedication and care that all the NPS staff take in providing a safe environment for park visitors. May you find peace on the mountain, on a trail, and in the wonder that is our national parks - and remember those who serve and have served so well.
