My heart is heavy and tears flow from deep within; I am so sorry about the ultimate sacrifice that you have been forced to make . . . thank you for your selfless service.
You have touched so many people. When they have seen the NPS logo on my patrol vehicle or uniform, citizens have reached out to share their condolences and outrage about your untimely departure.
My thoughts and heart are with your family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time. R.I.P. sister . . .

Thank you Ranger Anderson for all you did. I was raised as an NPS brat and remember countless moments of looking up to my dad and all the LE Rangers in the park for what they did on a daily basis. My deepest condolences to family and friends. Your NPS family holds you in our thoughts and prayers. Continued prayer for peace filled hearts to everyone affected by this painful tragedy.

Margaret Anderson (then Kritsch) was a student in my Fundamentals of Ecology class in 1998. I remember her as a very bright and inquisitive student. It was obvious even then that she had a genuine love of nature and a deep interest in ecology and wildlife biology. She was clearly motivated to succeed in school and beyond. For that reason, and due to her pleasant personality, she stood out in a class of >100 students... I was saddened by the news of her death. I'm sure she will be missed by many. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Ranger Margaret Anderson made the ultimate sacrifice to protect visitors to Mt. Rainier National Park. I was in a party of snowshoers who were among the visitors at the park on New Year's Day. We honor her for her courage on our behalf and send our condolences to her family. We will never forget her or her sacrifice.

Some of my favorite memories of our National Parks are of the Park Rangers who were always knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. They are true national treasures. I honor Ranger Anderson’s service and sacrifice. May God be with her family, friends, and colleagues in their time of sorrow.

I remember Margaret as someone who was always smiling and never had an unkind word for anyone. I am shocked and saddened to see that such a terrible act could have been perpetrated against her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this sad and difficult time.

I was one of the "hostages" held in the Mt Rainier visitor center for 18 hours with two 12 year old neighbor boys who I took to Paradise for their first time snowshoeing.
I believe that Ranger Magaret Anderson possibly saved my life and the lives of many others who were in the parking lot at the Paradise visitor center on Sunday morning.
Can anyone help out with a way to contact the "hostages" who owe so much to Ranger Anderson. I would like to try to organize a formal way for all of us to show our respects.
There are few such times in one's life when we have such an important opportunity and responsibility to show our respect and thanks to someone who sacrificed so much.
I would like to start a contact list of the hostages to help try to organize a more formal memorial from those of us who benefited the most from Margaret's sacrifice.
Please contact me if you can help.

Words can not ease the sorrow of this family. I just wanted to say my prayers are with them. They gave their daughter in service to us.. just as many in the military or police and fire do. She gave her life for our safety in the Park. Please let us know if a memorial fund is set for the children so we can help out. thanks.

Margaret left her mark on this earth and most certainly with the National Park Service. I feel privileged and honored to have worked with her back east -- I remember her professionalism, her kindness and patience, how happy she was to become a mom, and her great smile. The memories she left behind for all who knew her will be lasting.
