Oh my god. I crossed paths with her in November when I was on vacation at Mt. Rainier. We stopped at the park and were in the small museum there and the volunteer was panicking because they wanted him to tweet about the road closure but he didn't know how to do it. She came in and saved the day by tweeting for him. I was chuckling because of the social media lectures we just had 2 days before at our Idaho Parks conference. I can't believe this needless tragedy, how very sad. My condolences to her family.

As a wife and a mother of National Park Rangers at Rainier, my heart goes out to Eric, his children and family. My son is an LEO on this case and has worked with Margaret for several years. I pray for all law enforcement working on this case that you will be safe and that you will catch this person soon. Margaret is a great loss to our park service family and I pray for God to give Eric, family and friends strength and comfort in the memories they shared as we all grieve her loss.

I am shocked that something like this could have happened in our Parks. Where is anyone safe.
She sounds like a beautiful person and so young leaving such young children behind. The Anderson
family needs to know that the public is in sorrow with them and have them in their prayers

Truly a sad story - you were so young. It seems that you were an incredibly dedicated NPS ranger and a wonderful human being. Your actions today, and every day were those of a hero. Thoughts and prayers to your family, both blood and badge -- stay strong. Rest in peace, Ranger Anderson -- you will not be forgotten.

Did I ever see you at Rainier, Officer Anderson? Or perhaps your husband? Was I nice to you that day? Was I appreciative of your work? Did I understand the level of service you both committed to this park?

My guess is that you figured today would be just another day - the weather was actually good. Was it a scheduled shift? Did you trade a shift with someone else? Had you wanted to have today off and play with your family instead?

Today I ask myself these questions. Better that I take this sadness forward and appreciate Mount Rainier and appreciate your service as well as the services of your fellow rangers in a deeper way.

I offer my condolences, and the little comfort they may provide.

The lives of many are always protected by the few of us, or the ONE, I am deeply saddened to find out that another ONE of the protectors had to pay the ultimate sacrafice at the hands of a cold thoughtless coward. Let us not forget Ranger Anderson after the days pass and the killer is delt with for her children and husband has been left without her as well as those she protected. My deepest sympathy to her family, friends and those whoe new RANGER ANDERSON

What a tragedy that unfolded today. To Ranger Anderson's family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Mt. Rainier is a very special place to so many, and now today a madman has taken the life of a most dedicated steward. I have faith in our state's and federal law enforcement agencies that they will "get their man". Godspeed, Ranger Anderson.
