Agent Capano,
I met your daughter today. She and her sorority sisters were handing out Autism Speaks information sheets at the Morgantown Police Department.
After speaking with the girls for a few minutes I gave them a brief tour of the station. While stopping to show them a memorial for one of our fallen officers I pointed out the etching from the wall, when she quietly said " My Father's name is on that wall." My heart sank and I wanted to hug her.
I didn't really get to know her very well. But she seems kind, sincere and strong. I believe you would be very proud.'
We often forget that the family members live on and continue to grow, get an education and build a life.
Rest easy Sir, Your daughter is doing well.

I watched John evrey minute of his career at Seaford. I was the Goalie and I had the best seat in the house. Saw them all grow from decent Hockey Players to great Hockey Players. Johnny was one of the best Face off men we hgad. When we neede a face won in our zone 9 times out of 10 Johnny would win the faceoff !! he was also my teamate in Seaford Little League but in my opinion we were both better Hockey players than baseball players. When I get to Seaford I always go past his parents home and say a Prayer. RIP my Friend.....

As police memorial week approaches, I personally am praying for the family of John Capano as they struggle to follow through this hardship upon their lives. I hope they seek answers through prayer and love, rather than turning to depression and hatred. R.I.P. Agent Capano

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Agent Capano. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.
From reading the reflections left for John he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember John's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that John's life was about so much more than the way he died. John will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Agent Capano, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been nine years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

I never had the honor of meeting you John. But I do know your brother Jim, and if you're anything like him, the world is much poorer with your passing.
Thank you for your service.
