Reflections for Special Agent Daniel Lee Knapp
First of all, my condolences to Special Agent Knapp's family. Indeed he died a hero. Second, I would like to tell all of you, that the young man he saved is an 18 year old student named Hector Gonzalez Lopez. He said to the press in Puerto Rico that, even though he feels relieved that he is alive, he feels frustrated because Knapp died. He sent his condolences to the family and said that he feels guilt because Knapp died in his attempt to save him. God bless Special Agent Knapp, a true hero!

To Danny's family, from a member of his FBI family who served with him in in PR; though this may be of little comfort at this time, please know that Danny touched each of us with his calm demeanor and dedication to doing "the right thing" in life. In those moments during which he chose to participate in the truest form of altruism, risking self for the safety of another human being, he was doing what he knew was the right thing to do. I am sorry for your personal loss. Long after these days have passed, Danny will be remembered by many for an act that embodies all that is right with putting another before oneself.

Gods Speed Brother Knapp. Your brothers of the Northampton Police Department proudly honor your sacrifice. You have shown that true professionals know no down time, no vacation from the heart and no rest for the weary. You show that any time, anywhere when someone is in need, the brotherhood will respond and if it requires laying down one's life to save another, then so be it. We pray that as you enter the Kindom of Heavan with the Lord, you stand watch over the rest of us and give us your strength and commitment. We pray for your family and friends that the loving memories you leave behind will help them through this difficult time. Gods Speed Brother......
