I am a young lady who lives in the Austin Community who use to be really strung out on drugs. Officer Lewis arrested me one time while I was trying to buy drugs. I sent him on a high speed chase for about 2 miles. I just didn't want to go to jail that day. I was sick as a dog. Although he was arresting me, he was very concerned about me and my life of drug usage, he told me to go ahead and get this case over with, get clean off of drugs and start to live for real. I would like to say that was one year ago because I was bonded out of jail last Christmas Eve. So I would like to say to Officer Lewis family that your loved one has made a difference in my life and my family's life, I now have one year clear and sober. Thank You So Much For Your Concern Officer Lewis.

I am so saddened by this Officers death, my heart goes out to his family, friends, and the Chicago Police. I am also extremely angry and distressed of the complete disrespect for life in so many of our communities. We must come together as a TEAM and stop this continuing DISASTER.
SHAME on all of us if we let this officers death be in vain.
