Over the years I have seen your name listed many places. When we worked together at District 1 I knew I had someone I could count on if I needed anything. As a Sergeant I owuld see it listed on the Aviation detail and know that if I or one of the troops I was responsible got hurt we would be in great hands. You left the aviation unit to get back to the streets and I remember us talking about it and you wanted to be in a position where you could make a difference for the young officers coming on the job, teach them right and be an example. As a Lt. I would see your name on the detail and know that I had no worries in District 3, because you were there. All of these years I have known as a friend I could call and if it was in your power to help it was mine. Last May when I sat with your wife at the hospital after the first heart attack I did not know what to say. The paraedics that got you back had worked non stop all of the way to the hospital and after a week or so you were back among us. When you came back to work I was so happy for you because I knew you were doing what you loved. To hear this news last night it rocked all of our worlds. It was the first time that seeing your name on something did not bring me comfort but sadness. I still can not believe it is true, but alas it is. I am honored to have worked beside you, to be able to say you were a friend and proud of the legacy you leave behind in both your officers and your young son. We will miss you.
May god watch over you and your family both at home and work and kep them all safe.

Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“ uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place. As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say its ok you’re with your eternal partners. A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

For Sergeant Michael Boehm:
Our duty as law officers requires sudden and intense exertion at times, and no matter our intent to remain fit sometimes our health is less than perfect. We regret that our brother Mike is the latest officer to encounter a fatal heart attack while protecting and serving others.
We pray for Mike's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another at this time.
We are proud to render Sgt. Michael Boehm, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.
