For Undersheriff Pat Pyette:
Our duty as law officers leads us to situations of high risk on a continual basis. Sometimes it is the normal and usual tasks of the day that sudden bring about tragedy to one of our fellow soldiers-of-the-law. We regret that our brother Pat would be the next officer to forfeit his life in service to the public.
We pray for Pat's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him.
We are proud to render Undersheriff Pat Pyette, a military veteran and a noble law officer, a final salute.

Pat,
Words can not express the darkness in our hearts that our brothers and sisters who wear the uniform are feeling during this difficult time. You were a friend, a husband, a father, coworker and one of the most giving people I have ever met. Your work with Special Olympics Montana and the FOE was nothing short of amazing. If there was a need in your community, you did not sit around and do nothing, but stepped up to the plate and swung for the fence in everything you did. This one single quality made you an amazing person and a great deputy. The ability to step up and help the people you did not know eventually led to the cause of you paying the ultimate price. Your brothers and sisters in blue, brown and green have dropped to a knee because of your loss, but I assure you we will stand tall, and take care of your loved ones and coworkers. We will comfort them in any way humanly possible and surround them like the shields we wear on our chest. Please look out for our young officers as well as the seasoned ones to pull us back to reality once in a while. Rest easy my friend and I look forward to seeing you on the other side.
From everyone at the Great Falls Police Department, our hearts and prayers go out to Pat's family and coworkers at the Blaine County Sheriff's Office. Rest in peace brother, enjoy the endless pheasant hunts you have certainly earned.
