Pete,
You were a true gentleman and professional. We went through field training together as rookies back in 1989-1990 in FTU3. We used to call you Pistol Pete and you would just smile.
Watch over us, until we meet again brother.

A Prayer for you,
Dear Father,
It was only a moment,
but
In that moment a madman walked in
In that moment the world was changed.
In that moment countless Lives, were utterly altered.
In that moment our hearts began breaking.
Now in these moments we speak names previously unknown:
With reverence, we utter their names
In a moment our Line of BLUE stretched out across the nation.
That hard, fast and steady Line of BLUE has been breached.
In these moments help us as we have all become a part of the
Line of BLUE.
Dry our tears, comfort our broken hearts, strengthen our weaken knees, cure our confusion.
May the Line of BLUE draw a circle around us pulling back our hope.
May the Line of BLUE be a shield before us.
May the Line of BLUE carry us into the moments of our future.
A future made sure by their sacrifice in a moment.
It was only a moment and they were gone but
we and the Line of BLUE go on…

In honor of the fallen.

I read some news coverage of the verdicts for your killer and the get away driver and was saddened and angry that you, your family and friends, and your department did not receive the justice that was deserved. Your family must be very disappointed and upset and they are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.

To the Figoski family:
I live in Amsterdam, NY which is about 40 minutes east of Albany(exit 27 off the thruway). Anyway, I saw the news today(1-27-13) and read that the two scumbags that killed Detective Figoski are now on trial for murder. Out of respect for the immediate family, I will not name them. They plead not guilty and are attempting to use the 'it was an accident' plea. Never fear, the courts are smarter than that and I firmly believe that these animals will get what they deserve. My condolences to Detective Figoski's family.

To Detective Figoski's family:
This was a senseless murder of a wonderful person who gave his life to protect strangers like us in the street! More needs to be done to make sure this does not become the norm. Better laws and more prisons!! So sorry for your loss. One year later it feels like it just happened yesterday! RIP Det. Figoski!!! NEVER FORGOTTEN!!!!

It's almost a year and I still think about you and the love ones that were left behind. I still have them in my thoughts and prayers, for I know to clearly that time doesn't always heal all wounds.

But to his family I say, feel his love and warmth in the memories made together.
