My heart is breaking for this family. I am so sorry for your loss. I've walked in your shoes. I've felt the pain, I know where you are right now and I know where you still have to go. I vow to be there for you in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. I will hold your hand, allow you to cry, and help you as you try to rebuild your shattered life. I couldn't sleep last night because I remembered my own pain and I knew the pain you were feeling. I wish I could take your pain away, but unfortunately I cannot. I will, however, be here to help you through it. I will tell you all about the Concerns of Police Survivors and how they continue to help me and how they will help you. Just call me when you're ready and until then I will be praying for you and your family.
RIP Ofc. Crouse, you have fought the good fight. Rest easy now my brother and watch over us from above. You will be greatly missed.

A great tragedy when one of our Warriors is taken from us. God Bless His Soul. But I am very perplexed as to how this chain of events happened. Our Brother was picked at random? Then the shooter commited suicide? I know the fine investigators are looking at this situation with a magnifying glass. RIP!

I heard about this shooting while listening to public radio while on patrol in Arkansas. Deriek was a sheepdog who died protecting his flock. He is a hero and joins the ranks of the many here who died protecting those things that are worth protecting. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. May our Heavenly father watch over your wife and five children until you are reunited.

My niece was a Miami-Dade police officer killed in the line of duty in January, so I have some small understanding of what Deriek Crouse's family is going through. God bless his wife and children. They'll always remember he was a hero.
