Two more colleagues have joined you as we mourn your passing. The three of you appear to have shared the same fate at the hands of men who were never a threat to their community and who then committed suicide. The three of you did not suffer the usual line of duty death at the hand of a vicious felon. So as we mourn we will also examine why apparently decent men decided to take their lives but first end the life of another. May your memory be a blessing as your service was an honor. We are less for your departure.

I want to thank each and every Officer in this great country for protecting us on a daily basis. I for one think you should all get paid a lot more then you do. I hope that Deriek W. Crouse did not suffer and I thank him for his serving in both the Army and the police Dept. It is people like Deriek that make the world a better place. May GOD bless his family and may he rest in peace.

Officer Crouse,
You toiled so hard for those you loved.
You said goodbye to none,
your spirit flew before we knew,
your work on earth was done.
We miss you now, our hearts are sore,
as time goes by we miss you more.
Your loving smile, your gentle face:
no one can fill your vacant place.
Your life was love and labor.
Your love for your family true.
You did the best for all of us.
We will always remember you.
Mrs. Crouse and Sons,
My thoughts and prayers are with you now. I will think of Officer Crouse whenever I see our motto, Ut Prosim.
