Most LEO's have experienced the loss of a brother or sister on the job. It's impossible to express in words the feeling a law enforcement officer has when he or she hears of the horrible death of a fellow COP, and especially at the hands of a dirt bag. It's like a smashing blow right in the middle of your chest. A feeling that never really goes away. Bless you and your family Jim.

For Police Officer James Capoot:

The risks that the law officer encounters are not only great, but they are many. Nobody but fellow law officers truly can fathom the high tension and the continual face-to-face situaitions that we incur. Unlike the soldier, noble and certainly respected, the law officer is subject to danger not on the designated battlefield, but on the streets we call home.

We regret that our brother James would be the latest statiistic to be gunned down by the scum that tramps through the heart of American preying upon those who work to keep us productive. We now rely upon our fellow law officers to bring about a just dispositon to this case - no matter the task, no matter the time, no matter the cost. We'll persue Jim's killer - relentlessly - forever. Count on it.

We pray for Jim's family, friends, co-workers, and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

We are proud to render Officer Jim Capoot, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

To the family and friends of this officer,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I know how hard it is to loose a loved one. We here in my hometown of Grenada, Ms know exactely what you are going through right now. We lost a very loved policeman on October 7, 2011. It is never easy to loose a loved one especially with the holidays coming up. I know that we are safer here on earth because we have the officers up there in Heaven watching over us. May the Lord hold you in his arms at the time in your lives. I will certainly put all of you on my prayer list.

So very sorry for his loss, a true hero protecting him community. May he walk with God now.

You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live... yesterday, or you... can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back. Or you can do what he'd want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on
