"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
RIP Ofc. Clark, thank you for your service

To the family and friends of Officer Daniel Clark, his fellow officers, and most especially to Officer Clark:
We honor your service and you will always be remembered and revered. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Daniel was killed in the line of duty. It is obvious he was well-loved by many and well-respected by his peers as reflected in the loving reflections left for him.
May his loved ones continued to be supported by their law enforcement family and other police survivors. Our family grieves with you and for you.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the years of distinquished service Daniel gave to his community and the citizens of California, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 3, 2011.

For Police Officer Daniel Clark:
Our duty as law officers leads us into situations of all manner whereby injury might occur. We regret that our brother Dan would encounter an injury that would ultimately lead to his demise. Fate, apparently, has deemed it to be so.
We pray for Dan's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to support one another durng this sad time.
We are proud to render Officer Dan Clark a final salute.

We were shocked to hear that Danny passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to April, Danny's daughter, and the Clark family. I know first hand that Danny was a good agressive officer and impacted my decision to enter law enforcement years ago. I will be carrying on the torch for you brother!!

As the wife of a former police officer, and a friend and colleague of April's, I can understand the feeling of loss that the Clark Family and the Police Department is experiencing. Our greatest fear, as the family of law enforcement officers, is that our loved one will not come home to us...We understand that "there is no greater love that a man has than to lay down his life for another." Dan is home...and we will see him again. I pray that God will provide comfort to the family, friends and colleagues during this time of grief.
