I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiance Dennis. Every time I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the officer they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Detective Morgan. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. (The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. I can also be found on Face Book.) You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Michael he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Michael's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Michael's life was about so much more than the way he died. Michael will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Detective Morgan, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiance Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been nine years and he's still very much missed and forever loved.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

Mikeeeeyyyyyy!!!!!

There isn't a day that goes by that you are not in my thoughts. From the job to the gym to the endless nights at McGoverns. I can't believe that yesterday marked one month that you left us. Your director said it right; your life wasn't taken, you gave your life for us. A truer statement has never been said. You loved this profession and this profession loved you. You made thousands of friends, and each and everyone of us know that you are now looking down upon us, watching over and protecting us. We miss you so much my brotha, and we know that you are training hard up there as you trained hard down here. R.I.P. is only for your body, because your soul and your memory will live strong here forever. You are our BLUE KNIGHT...We will never forget you. May you rest in peace knowing that we have this watch from here.....Until our next meeting.......ray ray

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

I went to high school with Detective Morgan, but I did not personally know him. I never socialized with him, or ever spoke to him while in school, and after I graduated, just lost touch with him completely. After I found out about his tragic and truly untimely death, my heart has been broken for his family, his friends, his co-workers at the NPD; and all who knew him. May God bless each of you, and may you all have the comfort in knowing that he is in a better place, where he is now safe, and able to watch over each of you. Though I never knew him-except for going to the same high school; I will never forget him. He is a true angel watching over all who loved him, and protecting all of us. May he rest in peace.
