J.D. and I went to high school and over the past three years have gotten to know each other again. J.D. was a good guy. He love life, his son, his family, and his job. He was proud to be a police officer and enjoyed what he did.
He was love by many and will be missed by all. R.I.P my friend.

As horrible as it is to loose a life of one at all this deputy never gave up. This deputy fought to the end as we are all trained to do. His life ended protecting the lives of the community he faithfully served. What he did I hope we all do when the end comes. Fight for what we believe in and for those that are not able to protect themselves.
To James and his family from my family it is sad that we have lost our brother and a friend. As with all our brothers and sister that have lost thier lives to cowards, you will not be forgotten. Not by me or all our brothers and sisters still fighting the good fight. James you are a shining example that I will strive to emulate.

Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“ uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place. As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say its ok you’re with your eternal partners. A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Deeply sorrowful, I leave a reflection about another brave soldier killed by a cowardly enemy. I hope the community will show appreciation for the sacrifice Deputy Paugh has made, and outrage for this violent attack. My deepest sympathies and prayers your family, friends and brother/sister officers. May the memory of your heroism, service and sacrifice remain forever. May God bless you and your family.

Such a tragic end to this officer's life. I never see a traffic officer without saying a prayer for him or her knowing that the next car they pull may be their last. Thank you Deputy Paugh for your service. Even though I did not know you, I will forever be thankful to you for the ultimate sacrifice you gave wishing you had not had to give it. You were and always will be remembered as the hero that you are. My sympathies and prayers are with you, your family, your fellow offices and your department. Thank you!

Approximately eight short hours ago, while most of America was asleep, safe and secure in our homes, Deputy Paugh made the ultimate sacrifice...that we might continue to be safe and free. Even in his life's final moments, he was true to his calling and eliminated the threat that had taken his own life. Because of his bravery and tenacity, that coward will never harm anyone else. God Bless You Brother; you are now serene in God's Holy Presence. The watch is ours now...
