Reflections for Deputy Sheriff James David "JD" Paugh

My prayers go out to JD's family, I pray God strengthens them, and gives them His peace which passes all understanding at this time and the time to come. I worked with JD for 3 yrs. at the Richmond County Sheriff's office and he was always a helping hand. He always talked about his family and he loved his job, he was truly an officer and a gentleman, may he rest in peace and may justice be served..

My Heart bleeds a little more tonight as I go to bed in the comfort of my home with my family. Over my thirty year career there has been far to many Deputy James "J.D." Paugh's.
Tonight Richmond County lost one of it's finest. Although I never met Deputy Paugh I lost a FRIEND. I know at a moments notice without question my FRIEND Deputy Paugh would come to my aid if I needed.
Above all the Paugh family lost a Hero. They lost a brother, a uncle and a Father. Tonight I will cry with the Paugh family and with all my Brothers and Sisters at the Richmond County Sheriff's Department.
Stand proud tonight Richmond County Sheriff's Department becuase I want you to know that I stand proudly with you.
R.I.P. Deputy Paugh because in my mind the name Paugh will never be forgotten.

of an elite group The Thin Blue Line of Heroes.
There is no greater sacrifice that one can give
for his fellow man. To the Family I salute your
lost loved one, and pray for you during the days
to come. Officer Paugh will be in the company of heroes
forevermore.

The Thin Blue Line of the Fallen are Standing at
attention in their class “A“ uniforms,
badges gleaming and shoes like glass, They are your brothers
and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have
previously paid the ultimate price. Today, like many others,
they welcome you to this hallowed place. As you march
down the Thin Blue Line of the Fallen, all eyes are focused
on you as if to say it will be ok you’re with your eternal
partners. A salute follows and a tear can be seen
on so many faces. Welcome, you served well. Now come join
the ranks, another member of The Thin Blue Line has come home.

Rest In Peace Brother. Know your killer either took his own life, or died by one of your rounds, and he will not hurt anyone any more. You are a true hero and continued on with the fight, even after being shot. My condolences to your Family and the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.

I knew JD from him working specials at LOGAN'S ROADHOUSE. He was a great guy to talk to. He always made corny jokes,but those jokes always made me laugh. I last spoke to him at the opening of Buffalo Wild Wings and he was all about business as usual and still cracking me up. a few months ago he wrote me a warning for going too fast. I still have it and will never get rid of it. He will be deeply missed by me as a GREAT deputy and a extraordinary GOOD PERSON. I know he'll be patrolling Heaven on his motorcycle T-31 being all about business and still offering a helping hand for those in need.Thanks for being you JD. Oh yeah when I see you again the MT. DEW's are on me ;-?

We struggled all day long thinking of you while answering calls ... the day was heavy with sadness. We mourn your departure and REJOICE at your ARRIVAL in Heaven, for you are now in God's embrace!
