I have tried to make sense out of this, explain why to myself, put blame on someone or something and all I can think is that with God, everything happens for a reason. We dont always agree or understand but that not for us to decide. RIP J.D. You will be missed and never forgotten.

J.D. we all know you are a great Deputy and I will testify that you are a great guy to have a beer with. I still remember what you said to me when we were working an accident on Walton Way in front of the Bon Air a couple of weeks ago, “Sharkey, you handle the traffic and I will work the accident”. Thank you for allowing me the pleasure of working alongside of an outstanding Law Enforcement Officer.

JD used to come to the restaurant to do specials or just to visit. He will always be remembered as the guy with the boots on and the big smile on his face. He never had a bad word to say and spoke to everyone. We will miss him greatly, and our hearts and prayers go out to his fellow officers and family. The area has lost a true soldier and man. May God bless you all in this tragic event.
