Justin, I am so incredibly honored to have known you, and even more to have been your friend. There is a neverending fountain of kool-aid awaiting you now. My deepest thanks to you for paying the ultimate price for your dedicated service and for continuing to give even after your death so that others could live. What an honor to those who received your gift of life. My deepest sympathy to your family, your girlfriend, loved ones, and fellow officers. May God give you peace and comfort. Soar high with your new wings with the thin blue line.

First of all I would like to thank Officer Justin Sollohub for not only the protection he provided to the citizens that he served as well as the supreme sacrifice that he has made.

Secondly I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends, and fellow officers. I as well as so many will be praying for their comfort and peace during this tragic time.

Thirdly I would like to thank his family for the organ donation that he made. I recently lost my wife of 16 years that had been placed on UAB's Lung Transplant list. I know that with their unselfish sacrifice others may live and that, as I was hoping my wife would have been a recipient of such a presious gift, I would imagine the ones that received Officer Sollohub's gift would be honored to have received from someone of such a noble stature and carry on his unselfish, giving nature.

I did not have the privilege of knowing Officer Sollohub but would have been honored to have met him.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

sending prayers and comfort to friends and family. I wish I could say it gets easier as time goes by. My father was killed on this day in 1995. Time goes by. we dont forget the sacrifices they made. Or the scumb that took them from us. We just cover it with the love we have for our loved one in our hearts.
so they will rest in peace.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of Evil is for good men to do nothing. -Edmund Burke. You followed your calling and did your duty, Justin. You live on in every "10-4," every lonely wail of the bagpipes, every salute, and in the heart of anyone wearing a badge that survives and goes home to their children. Not knowing you, you are still my brother. And I miss you. It is our job, now, to live. To live the life stolen from you by a worthless insect. You are off duty, now. Bask in the presence of our Lord.
