Reflections for Police Officer Justin David Sollohub

Justin was a great officer. It is an honor to have known him. Justin, thank you for your service and for making the ultimate sacrifice. He was a proud member of the Special Response Team and dedicated to his teammates. I know you will always be watching over all of us.

To Layton (Chief McGrady), the SRT and to all of the officers at Anniston PD, Norita and I keep you in our hearts and prayers.

Rest in peace my friend, we'll take it from here. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9

My heart hurts for all that love this man and he will missed terribly.

Such sadness and hatred in our world. Tonite I am going to bed as I ask God to guard his newest angel and to let his Mom and Dad know that their son is in the loving arms of Jesus.

I'm so sorry to learn of your loss, so needless, at the hands of a coward. But now you're in the hands of Jesus, and there's no better place. Yet those of us left here feel the loss. As a mother who recently kept my own son on life support until organs could be donated, I feel for your mother, and am thankful for her making the choice to give someone else a miracle. God bless those you loved and who loved you. Thank you for your service and dedication.

Yet another brave officer shot and killed. My heart goes out to the family and I only know all to well what you are going through. My sadness turns to anger every time I read a new entry on this site. It is time that all of us in the criminal justice system redouble our efforts to arrest and incarcerate the animals who commit these acts.

I'm so sorry about the loss of Officer Sollohub. We had an officer involved shooting four days ago, durring which Officer Jarred Slocum was shot in the head. By the grace of God he is now recovering after surgery. This is a dangerous time. My family and I pray for all in uniform. Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Sollohub's family, as well as the men and women of the Anniston PD.
