"Solo" ~ Though we worked so close together and had many mutual friends, I was not lucky enough to have ever met you. I have had the honor to hear stories of your life from your family, friends, and co-workers. Your image is nothing short of a Hero's. You left a mark on the city of Anniston, the hearts of all that knew you, and on our great profession. You are one of the many that paid the "ultimate sacrifice" and for all of that, I thank you. Please watch over us as we continue our relentless pursuit of the criminal element. I love you Brother. R.I.P.

Family (Blood and Blue), Friends, Co-workers ~ Please find comfort knowing that though we have lost an amazing young man and officer, we have gained another guardian angel. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you all.

For Police Officer Justin Sollohub:

The risk that the law officer takes, no matter his location and department, is always equal to the numbers he or she serves. Nobody who enforces the law is completely safe, as killers can be found everywhere. We regret that Justin would be the latest law officer to fall at the hands of a wretch and a coward. We are saddened at this loss, but rejoice at the actions of those who came to Justin's aid and pursued his killer until he was apprehended. Our fellow law officers are our guarantee for justice - forever. We now rely upon our courts system to make a proper disposition in this case.

We pray for Justin's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to each other in the days ahead.

We are proud to render Officer Justin Sollohub, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
