"Never forget what they did here. It is rather for us, the living, to be dedicated here to the great task remaining before us - that, from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they here, gave the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain."
President Lincoln

Police Officer Evan Burns:
The duties of the law officer expose him or her to myriad hazards and risks. Anytime that the officer is outside of the patrol vehicle and along the highway the risk is increased. We regret that Evan would be the latest law officer to become a statistic serving others. Fate, apparently, has deemed it to be so.
We pray for Evan's son, family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Officer Evan Burns, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.
