Reflections for Police Officer Jeremy Nicholas Henwood
Such a tragedy.
What is wrong with people today ?
I know, the devil is at work now more than ever. But I'm happy to say that My (our) God will destroy this evil and bring all His children home. Thanks, Jesus for Your sacrifice on my behalf.
I'm sorry You had to go through that, but i'm gratefull that You did. Thanks

Saying sorry doesn't take your family's pain away or bring you back, but my thoughts and prayers go out to your family and your fellow brothers and sisters at San Diego PD. Another brother gone too soon. You will always be in our hearts as the true hero you were. Please watch out for us down here. We need it more than ever these days.

Law Enforcement 23rd Psalm:
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind.
He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans I'm a "minister of God,"
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name's sake He keeps me whole.
When I walk through death's valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.
He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life's enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, "Well done my son...,"
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun.

I would like to share the following with Jeremy's family, as I did when my family lost 'Our Jeremy' while on duty. His EOW was 10-06-06.
My son is also with the SDPD and I thank God every night and morning that he let my son survive another day out on the streets.
I pray the following gives you some small sense of peace knowing he's in God's hands now and IS patrolling the Streets of Gold.
~ Patrolling the Streets of Gold ~
When I passed from this life into the next
I was carried through the gates by the Son of Man.
As I looked at him he wiped away my tears,
It was then that I noticed my wounds were healed.
As my eyes turned forward I saw the streets of gold.
He gently placed my feet upon the street.
As I looked down I noticed my shoes were gone;
I stood with bare feet on Heaven's road.
I also noticed that my weapon was now gone;
My bullet proof vest as well as my cuffs are missing.
My badge was replaced by one of solid gold.
At first I looked at him in puzzlement...
Then I knew that I will never have need
To use those tools of my trade that
I had carried for many years...
For now I Patrol the Streets of Gold.

I had only talked to Officer Henwood a few times, but found him to be a caring, funny, very affable kind of person. I am stunned that this has happened. Given the kind of person he seemed to be, he will definitely rest in peace. My condolences to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this officer's family. It saddens me to see another officer senselessly killed . My heart goes out to SDPD so soon after losing Chris Wilson. After losing my son, I realize what a hard road there is ahead for family and co-workers . My prayer is that one of these days the impossible happens and no new names are added to the walls in Sacramento and DC.. Rest in Peace .. I know God has a special place for all of you who protect us every day.
