I would just like to extend my sincere condolences to the family, friends, coworkers, and the community in which Deputy Sheriff Bryan P. Gross both lived, worked, and served.
A Scriptural quote came immediately to my mind when I learned of Deputy Gross' unfortunate death whilst attempting to save a distraught 14 year old girl who apparently had intentionally leapt into the North Platte River following an argument with her boyfriend:
Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
The Gospel of John, Chapter XV, Verse XIII
May you rest in peace sir and may your reward be great in the Hereafter.
Sincerely,
B. Watts

My Prayers and thoughts are with Deputy Bryan Gross family in such a time of tragedy. Without a thought of his own safety Deputy Gross reflected the true meaning of service, of commitment, of love, in giving his own life to save another. The wonder of it all never ceases to amaze me even after nearly 20 years in law enforcement. Many prayers for you Deputy Gross, for your family, and for those who stood beside you who are now in pain.
