I'm so sad and shocked to hear of the passing of Officer Ackerman. I personal knew him through work, and the explorers program. He was a stand up guy, great officer, and great friend. He helped me through out my time as a police explorer, and I'm blessed to have known him. My love and prayers go out to his family, especially his little girl!

Dan,
"What's crackin?" I can't believe that you are gone. Just a week ago we buried Les. And now another tragedy hits the Buena Park family. You can rest easy now brother, as we will continue the watch for you. Unfortunately we will never get to watch that Steelers - Raiders game we were planning on, but I know you will be cheering on your Raiders from Heaven.

With pride and integrity they say "To serve and protect"
For the giving of their life we offer our respect
We remember the officers who we never really knew
Persons strong enough to answer the challenge are few
With heavy hearts we mourn the officers in eternal rest
There's more to thee people than the badge on their chest.
Prayers to the officer's family, may you find some solice in the next few days, weeks months knowing this man was the best he could be!

Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“ uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place. As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say its ok you’re with your eternal partners. A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Dear officer Ackerman,
I pray for you and your family, both personal and proffessional. I too hope someday to become either a SWAT team officer of K9 Handler if I can get hired in Law Enforcement. But the most important is that you you know you are in my prayers.
