Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your memory will always be honored and revered as time never diminishes respect.

Rest In Peace

I never knew you. I should have known you, as a child, but I didn't, because you were taken too soon. Neither did my mother know you, or my grandmother, your daughter, who was only two when you were killed. We were always proud of you, though. In our family we repeated the story of how Patton Bartley was deputized to apprehend some violent criminals, and how he was so unexpectedly called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice. I wasn't even born for more than 40 years after your untimely death but you have nevertheless been a role model for me. I am grateful that your story is now here for all to see.
