Greater love hath no man than this , that a man lay down his life for his friends

Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of GOD

He was a good friend, a good employee, a good coworker , most of all he was a good Christian
and a child of GOD

Enjoy Heaven my friend , you work on earth is done

It has been 2 weeks to the day that I got the phone call that changed our lives forever. I lost not only my father but my best friend.
I returned to work today but things just aren't the same. I miss you so much.
I promise to raise my son and teach him just as you did me, and tell him about what a great man you are.
I love you daddy.

XXVII

Then out spake brave Horatius,

The Captain of the Gate:

``To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods,

XXVIII

``And for the tender mother
Who dandled him to rest,
And for the wife who nurses
His baby at her breast,
And for the holy maidens
Who feed the eternal flame,
To save them from false Sextus
That wrought the deed of shame?

XXIX

``Haul down the bridge, Sir Consul,
With all the speed ye may;
I, with two more to help me,
Will hold the foe in play.
In yon strait path a thousand
May well be stopped by three.
Now who will stand on either hand,
And keep the bridge with me?''

Rick, I know you can see what you mean to us.

35 minutes for your funeral procession to pass. Fire, EMS, Federal, State, Mulitiple County Police and Sheriff's Departments. The Flag of honor escorted by Officers from Miami P.D., Agencies from Florida, Tennessee, Alabama and South Carolina. Condolances from the Governor, Mass TV coverage. You deserved it all and more. Yet is dosen't seem to be enough.

There have been many tearful eyes, silent memories and reflective smiles in the week since you passed. We will miss you.

25 years ago we started the same academy class as strangers, yet today I remember a true friend. Your family has fed me and your mother has taught my child in school all while you had my back on the road.

I will miss you my friend, rest well though-your family is taken care of.

Rick, Though I only met you once in the course of our duties as neighboring jurisdictions, it hits me hard to know that another brother has passed over to the house of our father way to soon. This year has bee a bad year for Officers and Deputies.

I am comforted in knowing that you now walk with our father. You have rightfull taken your post in watching over all of us now. My heart and prayers go out to your family. I leave this for them and you:

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they are truley the sons and daughters of God. God Bless you Rick you will live in all of us giving us strength to carry on and take the fight to them.

Goodbye Brother.
