Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

We only heard stories of you from your brother Byron T Hacker.
We never had a chance to meet since you had passed before my and my siblings were born.
My Brother was named after you.

Even though it has been nearly a century since you made the ultimate sacrifice please know that you have not been forgotten. Although the City of Hopewell was not formed until a year after your death you died protecting the same citizens that our department ultimately stated protecting a short time later. I know you watch over your brothers and sisters of the Hopewell Police Department each day from the big precinct in the sky. Please continue to rest easy brother as we have the watch now.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 97th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I am sure that you are proud of how your family has continued your legacy of protecting and serving.
Rest In Peace.

Officer Hacker,
Sir, it has taken 96 years, but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your community, but also for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army. It sickens me that your murderers weren't brought to justice.
