Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Kyle David Pagerly
I attended your funeral today and it never gets any easier seeing one of our brothers laid to rest. Your partner Jynx held his head high as he received his Medal of Honor. I never had the pleasure of knowing you, but I sleep better knowing that their are men and women on the job of your caliber always watching my back and the back of all of those in law enforcement. I promise you that Law Enforcement United as an organization will look after your family and assist them in any way possible to help them through these tragic times. Your child WILL know what kind of father they had when he or she is old enough to understand. So now go and rest easy brother. We will take your watch from here.

It is a blessed thing indeed, to see and feel the emotions felt by so many here today. There were times of sorrow, but also times of happiness. Times of love, and rejoicing in the the fact that we are alive today, because of the sacrifices made by others. Kyle Pagerly made such a sacrifice last week, killed tragicly while performing his duties. People like Kyle don't come along often in our lives, and it is truly sad to lose him before we really ever knew him. At 28 years of age, he had so much promise in his life, yet fate would take his last breath at the hands of the person he was trying to apprehend. He and his partner Jynx, along with others from several law enforcement agencies placed theirselves in harm's way to protect us. They do this each and every day, and we think nothing of it. That is, not until we lose one of our special people, our "protectors". We have seen this in the military, and we know it hurts when our sons or daughters come home in a flag draped casket. To see Kyle's flag draped casket today brought tears to my weary eyes, and I could not help but feel the pain that so many of his comrades are feeling. I truly couldn't imagine the feelings his widow, who is expecting their first child, must be feeling. My "Sir Sappy's Special Moment" for today is for her. Please take a moment to reflect on what you all have today, and think about how the sacrifices made by others, including ones such as Kyle's ultimate sacrifice, allow you to enjoy the freedoms you enjoy today. Think of Alecia Pagerly, her loss, and the future she now bears because Kyle paid such a high price for our freedoms. Please keep her, their unborn child, and their immediate family in your thoughts and prayers. If you all have a heart, please also take a moment the next time you see a policeman or fire fighter, and say "thank you"... We owe so much to these wonderful, "special" people....
God Bless...

Working with Kyle, while as a deputy or when he was on the streets with WB Pd. , was always a pleasure - he was kind, pleasant , and always had a distinctly respectful attitude toward our dispatchers. My prayers are with your family and friends. You have made a difference in many lives. God bless you and watch over your loved ones. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Today a true HERO was layed to rest. May Kyle's family find peace and comfort in his memory. There are no words that can express the appreciation I as a resident of Berks County have for Deputy Pagerly and all other law enforcement officers. Every day when they leave for work, they kiss their loved ones good bye, never knowing if it will be the last time they see one another. Their families always hoping they will never have to go through this heart breaking experience. May the support of family, friends, and even strangers help Kyle's entire family through this difficult time.
Thank you Deputy Pagerly for your heroic efforts in keeping all of us safe.
You will be missed by all. May you rest in peace.

May the Pagerly family, friends and all co-workers have the peace and strength to continue onward. I was at the Service today and although I did not know Kyle, it was an honor learning about him. I can tell he was not just a fine Officer, but a terrific and down-to-earth human being always willing to give himself for others. He is a Hero by all means, as is his partner and buddy Jynx. If Kyle and Jynx didn't team-up and take immediate/courageous action the way that they did, I am certain many of their brothers would have been ambushed.
There is no greater act than to sacrifice your life for others and that is precisely what happened, without hesitation. I'm not quite sure why all the good ones are taken from us, but I'm quite certain Kyle is walking a beat on Heaven's streets right now. RIP Kyle.
To all the Officers that organized and attended this service, including the K-9's...well done!

My heart goes out to his family. My heart breaks for you. Know that everyone is feeling this loss. I did not know Kyle but if you have a heart you will feel it break for this family. I am a Vol FF's wife and know the feeling of when he leaves the danger he will face. Kyle's danger was much greater being in law inforcement. My tears, my thoughts and prayers to you all. May God comfort you in your times of sorrow and my hope that your many many happy memories help you through the difficult times. God Bless.
