I have known Russell since 1999. As I read all these touching tributes, it fills my heart with warmth. Russell was one of my best friends. His laugh will stay with me the rest of my days. He always called me "Box" and I always called him "Roscoe". We worked together at LSU PD from 1999 to 2001 and we re-united in Aug 2009 when he was hired at the Port Allen Police Department. I was already a Detective when he came to PAPD and it was just like old times again. Russell you will be missed my brother, but NEVER forgotten.
RIP Roscoe, The Watch is Ours Now.

Officer Russell Gerorge was a good guy no matter how u fell, he was that guy brought a smile to you. His time here in memphis was short but it seems like he's been here for a while, his jokes ,his laughs , sense of humor will be missed. But last he was a good officer, as well of a good co-worker. Truly missed.

I only knew Russell a short time, while he was with our Department. He did have a Laugh that drew you in, and could make a work day fun, thinking what he'd come up with next. He was a all business when duty called. May God welcome him home, and hold and comfort his family in their time of need.

While it's been a couple years since Russell worked with us here in Memphis, I can still feel the presence he left on my life. His laughter was contagious and I looked forward to working with him everyday. God, you broke the mold with Russell and you've called a real good one home. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. While he was in my life for a short time, he left a lasting impression on it. And I thank God for allowing us to spend that time getting to know one another. May you rest in peace My Brother!

Worked with Russell at UT Police Department in Memphis for just a short period of time. Russell was one of those people you will never forget. Russell was always making us laugh even at 6:45 a.m. Russell was a fun person, but an excellent police officer and when it came down to police business, he was on top of things.
Our police force will miss him very much as a fellow officer and as a wonderful friend. God Bless to his family.
