Ive known you Adam since A.T. Johnson middle school. I dont remember what classes we had but I do remember you were the most laid back guy in the class. Nothing ever seemed to bother you. You were calm the cool collective type and I know thats how you were as a Trooper. I remember that day I saw you in Walmart and you were getting out the military. I told you I was a Police officer and you told me wanted to be a Trooper. I never had any doubts that you wouldnt become a Trooper because the way you carried yourself. Im glad that you achieved your dream. Adam God has chosen you personally to protect the heavens. He decided he needed someone brave, someone w/ integrity, he needed a true warrior, but most of all he needed a protector. You exemplified all these qualities while you were here this short time on earth. You were handpicked for your loyalty, your dedication, your faithfulness, your courage but most of all because of your selflessness to serve and help others any way that you could. You are promoted from Trooper Adam Bowen to Guardian Angel Adam Bowen. I wont worry while im patrolling the streets because i will always have backup watching from the heavens. You dedicated your life to serving others because you truly cared for people and now I know your dedicated to serving God now. Your sidearm is now a sword, your ballistic vest is now a shield, your cruiser is now your wings, your uniform is the armor of God, your badge is now a halo your beat is now heaven and Im glad that you will be protecting us. His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

I am a mother of a police officer who served his country in the US Army for ten years with 3 tours in Iraq. I know all too well the feeling of never knowing if your son will come home each night because of the career he has chosen. But I also know he lives and breathes the work he does and wouldn't have it any other way. My heart and prayers are with you and your family. Thank you for your service to our country at home and abroad. I am sure that this world is a much better place for having you in. May you rest in peace.
