Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Richard Keith Bellar
How can one find words when reading something like this? Dep Bellar went to help and instead was met with gunfire. I know it is the nature of the job, and yet, it saddens and angers me to see another one lost to such senseless violence.
To Dep Bellar's family and friends, my deepest sympathies. I pray that your faith will sustain you through these dark days and bring you to a peaceful place. To Dep Bellar, thank you, for being a light in a sadly darkened world.

You never know what you are investigating until you learn the facts surrounding the incident.
This officer thought he was investigating a traffic accident but he did not know that this was a domestic assault. Unfortunately, the husband shot and killed this young officer and then committed suicide.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family of this police officer.
I lost my best friend on a traffic stop on I=95 in March of 1990. He stopped a car for speeding and the driver told Ted Wolf that he was a police officer. He wasn't. He was running drugs and guns to New York. Ted put him in the front seat of his police car and he pulled a gun and shot him twice in the face.

We continue to bury the brightest and bravest this country has to offer. Deputy Bellar was one of the few who chose to wear the badge and protect those who cannot protect themselves. Deputy Bellar was doing what Officers do, he was trying to help somebody in their time of need. Makes no sense. I pray for your family Deputy Bellar in these very difficult times ahead. You sir are sitting in the best seat in the house, the Lords House. He has welcomed you with open arms with a job well done my faithful servant. Rest in peace sir, you are truely a hero and an inspiration to others who will follow, and they will. There will always be young Officers to hold the thin blue line because nobody else will. God bless you sir..Thank you for your service. God bless your family.

I remember when Officer Bellar was at my daughters accident. She went down a deep incline and a tree branch stopped her car from rolling further down. Officer Bellar came to me and said to me "Jesus protected your daugther". Those words he said pierced my heart. Everytime after that, when I would get concerned about my daughter, I would remember Officer Bellar telling me "Jesus protected your daughter". I feel sadness in my heart, but I do know where Officer Beller is. He is with Jesus . God bless all the officers who protect and serve our communities all over. Thank you !! Deborah Massa
