"This is my Shield. I bear it before me in battle, but it is not my own. It protects my brother on my left, it protects my city. I will never let my brother out of its shadow, nor my city from its shelter. I will die with my shield before me, facing the enemy."

I am the wife of a peace officer and mother of another. I know the fears that a wife and mother lives with each time her loved one dons the uniform and walks out the door. My prayers are with you and your children, Mrs. Wyman, as you try to cope with your loss. Please know that there is a nation of police officers and their families who grieve with you. At any moment, it may be one of us in your shoes. "But for the grace of God, there go I". May God's peace be upon you...

TEARS OF A COP
I HAVE BEEN WHERE YOU FEAR TO GO
I HAVE SEEN WHAT YOU FEAR TO SEE
I HAVE DONE WHAT YOU FEAR TO DO
ALL THESE THINGS I'VE DONE FOR YOU.
I AM THE ONE YOU LEAN UPON
THE ONE YOU CAST YOUR SCORN UPON
THE ONE YOU BRING YOUR TROUBLES TO
ALL THESE PEOPLE I'VE BEEN FOR YOU.
THE ONE YOU ASK TO STAND APART
THE ONE YOU FEEL SHOULD HAVE NO HEART
THE ONE YOU CALL THE MAN IN BLUE
BUT I AM HUMAN JUST LIKE YOU.
AND THROUGH THE YEARS I'VE COME TO SEE
THAT I'M NOT WHAT YOU ASK OF ME
SO, TAKE THIS BADGE AND TAKE THIS GUN
WILL YOU TAKE IT? WILL ANYONE?
AND WHEN YOU WATCH A PERSON DIE
AND HEAR A BATTERED BABY CRY
DO YOU THINK THAT YOU CAN BE
ALL THOSE THINGS YOU ASK OF ME?
RIP DEPUTY WYMAN...YOU SERVED YOUR COUNTRY AND DEPARTMENT WELL.

To Deputy Wyman's wife, little boy, and unborn child:
There are no words to even begin to ease the pain. This is so troubling to read what had happend to your husband I can barely see the screen thru my crying. You are not alone. There are so many, many people that care. I am hugging you and your children now and if I could ease the pain in any way I would. Please lean on your family, friends and your law enforcement family. Accept any help that you are offered. Take the time to be alone and if need be, let the people around you know that you need that time alone. They will surely understand. Rant, rave, throw something if needed but the most important thing is to let it out because you know that keeping it in will just make you sick. I have lost my husband at a young age so unfortunately I can relate a little bit. Be open to his presence around you too. Talk to him out loud if that gives you some comfort. He will ALWAYS and 4ever be beside you. I am so very truly sorry for your loss. People would tell me that God dosent give you anything you cant handle and I used to get sick of hearing it. But now as time goes by I agree with it and know that it has made me stronger.
To Deputy Wyman:
Thank you for keeping us all safe, my heart breaks and I am sorry that this had to happen to you. Be there for your wife and children, make your presence known. I just know you can do this!!! You will be their angel. I salute you Sir, GodSpeed.....

You made the ultimate sacrifice and that will never be forgotten! May you're children grow up proud to have had a father who was a hero! You were taken too soon, and didn't get to enjoy life growing old with your wife and watching your children grow up. Prayers to your family and friends. May God reach out his hand and comfort them and give them peace. You will never be forgotten and will always remain in the hearts of those who you loved and loved you. Rest in Peace Brother!
