Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Kurt Brian Wyman
To Dep. Wyman's two children that may read this one day. I know you are young right now and times will be rough without your loving father, but remember that God is watching over you at all times with your father. Your father is apart of a huge family and if you ever need anything from any peace officer anywhere, they will oblidge. To Dep. Wyman's family, I am deeply sorry for your loss and I will continue to pray for you. To his department brothers, stay strong and continue to keep your head up. God speed, my brothers.

On behalf of myself, the Italo-Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the Deerfield Fire Department, I wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Deputy Kurt Wyman, to the members of the Oneida County Sheriff's Department, and to his extended family, at this, their time of most profound sorrow and grief. May Almighty God comfort you all and bring you peace. While you walk in days of darkness, may that darkness be dispelled by the joy of the Resurrection and the promise of life everlasting in the Kingdom of Heaven.
The death of this young officer is a loss to the entire community. It is my sincerest hope and my prayer that the death of Deputy Wyman will open the eyes of all to the great risks law enforcement officers take each and every day they put on their uniform and badge. May we all do our part to ensure that such a tragedy never happens again.
Eternal rest grant unto Kurt, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Memory eternal, Deputy Wyman!

It is not how they died, for which we will remember them but how they lived. He paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving the community. Forever on duty. Gone but not forgotten. Serving the law to the end. May their boots be forever shiny and their heads held high. A profession that calls on its members to give the ultimate sacrifice. A sacrifice for good. He gave his all for others. Forever proud of their achievements. May their badges never tarnish. Cut down in the prime of their lives.

There are no tears that can be shed for the loss of an officer, father, loving man who defends a woman, or a child from abuse. They cannot pay the debt we feel for having been the cause of someone else standing in the way of the anger and terror we lived in. We, the victims, cried alone for so long....but Never did we want another to bare the wrath of the insanity we faced. May you live on in the hearts of those who still champion the plight of the victim...a modern knight on his shining horse.

No words can express the pain we all feel when one so young passes away doing such a righteous job for his community. There are only more questions as to why this had to happen. One day we may know the answer when we join our loved one again. Meantime, this is a special family in every sense of the word. They will be there for each other and for those left behind not just in these days but in the future too. Lean on each other as Deputy Wyman would want for you to do. He is still around you and he will watch over you, his tour on earth has ended but another tour of duty has just begun and will last for eternity.
Thank you Deputy Kurt Wyman for your service and your sacrifice. Thank you Mrs. Wyman for being the hero behind the badge, for supporting his ambition to help this be a better world.
I will pray for your family and his family in blue.
