Your heroism and service is honored on this 93rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminisher respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace

For Town Marshal Robert L. Smithwick:

The risk the law officer takes is the same today as it was in 1929. Confronting burglars and other law-breakers, no matter the era, is not without courage and desire to keep others safe and sound. We regret that Robert would have to forfeit his life in the defense of his community, but yet we are proud of a spirit so dedicated to others and will not forget to honor him as a hero.

We pray that family, friends and others will always hold his memory in high esteem.

As a retired state trooper and Lake County (FL) deputy sheriff, I am proud to render Marshal Robert L. Smithwick a final salute,

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police

Marshal Smithwick,
Sir, it has taken 82 years but you are finally being honored. I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Groveland. It angers me that your murderer was pardoned.
