Trooper Werda although we never crossed paths, and never personnaly met. We did walk the same halls, pinned on the same badge and served in the same great state. This makes us brothers and Troopers alike. May God watch over you and your family. My families prayers go out to you, your family and friends. God speed brother. Rest in peace.

"We Remember the Officers"
We remember the officers who changed our lives,
The men and woman who protected us day and night,
People who respect for their dedication to the cause,
For when faced with danger, they never even pause.
We remember the officers who always stood true,
Whatever the color of uniform, brown gray or blue,
With pride and integrity they say "To serve and protect",
For the giving of their life, we offer our respect.
We remember the officers who we never really knew,
Persons strong enough to answer the challenge are few,
With heavy hearts we mourn the officers in eternal rest,
There's more to these people than the badge on their chest.

I had the pleasure of working the road with Jeff and I would like to say that he was a great trooper and loved his job very much. He was always one of the first officers quick to back someone up. You could always count on Jeff to be there when you needed someone. This is a sad time for us officers in Saginaw County we lost one of out close brothers and we are going to miss him very much. My deepest condolences go out to his family.

I did not know Trooper Jeffrey Werda, but I have lost a close friend, Trooper Rick Johnson who was also killed in the line of duty. I am so very sorry for your loss. It is hard and it is sad, but time will heal the pain with the grace of God. As a trooper, I lean on this Bible verses: “No greater love has a man, than to lay down his life for another.”John 15:13. May it bring you comfort, and God Bless.

To Trooper Werda's Family:
I am deeply sorry for whats happend to your loved one. I also have been thru something similar and my husband was the same age as Jeffery. There are no words that can even begin to comfort. Stick together as a family and lean on anyone and everyone that you can, and also take time to be alone. That was important to me, it did help somewhat.
God Bless you folks, again I am so sorry...
To Trooper Werda:
Thank you ever so much for your service and keeping us safe from harm. Keep the watch on your family now, make your presence known. You were too young to leave this earth, Im so very sorry.I salute you, Sir, GodSpeed.....

Although I do not know Trooper Werda, I "work" with and am friendly with several Troopers from the Mt Pleasant post. ANY loss of life is sad, but the loss of an officer while on duty is especially tragic. If it had any that I know, I would be extremely upset. My heart goes out to his famly, friends and fellow "troops". Thank you for your service. For the rest of our on duty officers...Be Safe.
