Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace today. Thanks to your friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.
Rest In Peace.

Today is your birthday...44 years young. Gone much too soon and missed so very much. Thank you for continuing your watch from heaven. I say the same prayer for your children that I started saying for you all those years ago..."I said a prayer for you today and I know God must have heard. I felt the answer in my heart although he spoke no word..." I love you always.

I pray for peace
Blessings and honor
Heaven right earth's despair
This is my Christmas prayer
For those that grieve
God will bring comfort
Laughter will rapture there
This is my Christams prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer
I pray for you (Yes I know you do)
That your triupmh and conquer
Poses the strength you need to bare
This is my Christmas prayer
For those in need
There would be plenty
And each other's burdens share
Oh, this is my Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer, Oh
So let hope fill our hearts (Let's let hope fill our hearts)
Shine the light through the dark
All around the world
And everywhere
I will pray
This Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas
This is my Christmas prayer
See I pray that love will rule and reign
And I pray that time will rid the pain of this world
As we learn to trust and care
This is my Christmas prayer
This is my Christmas prayer

Just thinking of you a lot lately. Im glad I still see you mail drawer every day I work, it lets me know you are still here protecting us. The post will be closed at the end of the month and we wonder where you would have ended up. Everyone's excited about hunting and Im sure you have the big bucks taken. Sitting here thinking about how different things were not so long ago. This time last year was your golf weekend and you had an absolute ball. I still can't believe you aren't here. Seems you should be doing it agian. Over time I see that people have made up their sense of reality for whatever reasons they have but truth be told you were plain and simple a wonderful person. You owed no one an apology or explaination for being who you were. You were fair and honest. You treated people respectfully even if they didn't always deserve it. You were and still are a light for me. You were a good trooper but more importantly you were a good man. You did whatever you could to keep your children happy and feeling secure. You also did whatever you could to help people out and make people smile. My world is not the same without you and I know that many feel that very same way. I love you, always have and always will. Thank you for all that you accomplished while you were here...although the time was much too short. oxox

I have grown to hate Wednesdays...I replay the day over and over in my head, as if it happend yesterday. Today, I focused on our FINAL conversation. You stood in our doorway, dressed in full uniform and we had a great conversation about Tammy and the kids. You beamed when you told me you were getting back to a place you once were. You took full responsibility for many things and said "Stace, it's going to be different now..." I am sorry you had to leave and not finish out 30 more years with Tammy...but because of our conversation, I know you died loving her and loving your family. I miss you...and I am dreading November very much! Please continue to visit us and leave us signs when you can. Missing you....and sending you my love!

I still cannot believe my eyes when I see your picture here. I still cannot believe my eyes when I see your memorial tshirt sitting in my kitchen. To say you are missed is hardly enough to sum up how so many people are feeling!

Jeff,
It's hard at times to really believe that you are not going to walk through the back door of the post at the start of your shift. I started to do the firearms schedule today and all I could think of was that you wouldn't be there laughing and joking with us. Rest easy Jeff ...

In my career as a police officer I've had the honor of visiting the National Law Enforcement Memorial site in Washington DC. One of the cornerstone quotes at the memorial is "It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived". Jeff in his lifetime CHOSE to serve his country as a member of the US Army, he CHOSE to serve his state as a Trooper with the Michigan State Police, and on the morning of April 6th he CHOSE to do his duty and respond into harms way to assist fellow officers apprehend a criminal threatening the safety of the public. Jeff's pattern of choices are what makes him a hero, and are his legacy.
On behalf of the men & women of DHPD please accept our heartfelt support & condolences on the loss of Jeff and know that he will always be remembered.
God Bless & God Speed
