Reflections for Sergeant James Timothy Chapin
My condolences and deepest sympathy to your family Sarge...we have lost a great man and Heaven has gained a great soul.
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rain fall softly on your fields
And until we meet again, May God hold
you in the hollow of his hand
R.I.P. Sarge and watch over us.

Tim it has been 13 years since I worked with you, but with the news it hit just as hard. You will be missed and it is officers like you that make me proud to say yes I am a cop and proud of it. Rest in pease my friend we well take it from here. To your family god speed, you will never be forgotten and from here on out your family just got a lot bigger, once a police officer always a police officer and that goes for families.

It's tragic when a brother officer pays the ultimate price to protect all of us. Words pale at times like this, they seem hollow, yet there are those of us who truely honor all men and women in uniform, and will never forget those of you who have given everything. May God be with you, your family and your brothers and sisters in blue. Thank you for the way you lived.

We are proud of your service to the Chattanooga area and the life you lived and gave. Thank you for the value you added to our church, community and country. Your example of service, leadership and humility will always be remembered. We know you are with Jesus and the holy angels now. We now can clearly see the life you gave and are amazed. I am thankful for Sgt. Chapin's kind words that made my mother and sister feel safe after they suffered a traumatic day time house breaking a couple of years ago. I breifly worked with Tim back in 1985 and knew then he would be a professional dedicated to making my hometown safe. My condolences go out to his family, friends and associates.
