I miss you every day. Every time Winston does something silly I am hoping that you are watching from above and getting a laugh. He still carries around the tshirt that you had left at the house. He misses having you chasing him around the house with the coffee pot. I have been posting a lot of the photos of you and the "pit bull on crack" for people to enjoy....but it is just not the same without you.

Deputy Perry,
Meeting you while an intern in your office let me experience some of who you are and your professionalism. You and the other U.S. Marshal’s are and continue to be an enormous influence on myself. We have dedicated class 176 of the St. Louis County Police Academy to you. Your picture hangs in class everyday reminding me that no matter how tough things get always persevere. I appreciate your service and hard work.

We had a memorial for you at the bench on the hill at Glenbard and then some cocktails and shared memories. It is great to know that you kept your sense of humor and your street smarts with you at work. We will always remember you.

I saw a memoriam after the TV show "Justified" and had to find out who this hero was. You are a hero and your passing was not in vain.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

Deputy Marshal John Perry-
Thank you for everything that you have done. You are definitely a hero.
To the Perry family- I know there is nothing that we can say to take away the pain. Just take one day at a time. There are so many people thinking of you and praying for you.
