Though it has been 5,408 days since your passing you have been and will be remembered for the heroism, integrity, kindness, compassion, and services you brought for Murfreesboro. I as an explorer have worked with many officers and everything you have done has brought many to peace in the chaos or understanding in the troubles this world brings us. i pray your family finds peace and comfort even after all this time. Through the times your name will be remembered by your friends your family and even people who never knew you we will see you on the other side Rest In Peace brother keep moving forward.

Matt,
You were my favorite FTO. I can not believe it has been 12 years. I still think of you often and refuse to throw away the t-shirt we all wore after your passing...even though it has a million holes and is thinner than paper now. You remain my inspiration for what kind of officer I want to become. I remember how Murph would whine at the beginning of every shift until you got him a burger from McDonald's. I will never forget you brother. Thank you for watching over us all of these years. You honestly will never be forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Thanks to your friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.
