Two brave American Peace Officers from the same family were both called to heaven. A family dedicated to protecting our nation and its community. Rest in peace my brothers and know that you and your family are loved.

To the Clardy family, I can not express in words the love, respect and condolences I have for the loss of your two family members who were true heroes in the law enforcement community. I am sorry for your loss. To read a son's reflection to his fallen father on this page and to know he followed in his father's footsteps, served in law enforcement and lost his life is heartbreaking. May you find strength in the support of family, friends and the law enforcement community.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 35th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Mr. Clardy, I have worked with your son for a number of years now and we are currently in the same unit. You would be very proud of Billy and the pride and dedication he shows to your name and our department on a daily basis. My dad served with you and has nothing but good memories of things you both done while working. I am very proud to call your son my friend and we know you will look out for us. Rest in peace fellow brother.

I was seven years old the last time I saw you.I remember hearing your voice on the police scanner that put me to sleep every night. I also remember the roll call over the radio that May 3rd night when you did not answer. Then the knock at our front door confirming what I already knew.I am now 39 years old proudly serving the Huntsville Police Department as you did. I take your spirit with me daily from call to call. Thank you dad for the gift of your name, and the time I had with you.You are in my mind every day.I love and miss you.
