Reflections for Corrections Officer Casimiro Maximino Pomales
We all know the risks that come with the job. However, that doesn't mean that we are not saddened when we hear that a fellow officer went down in the line of duty. Prayers to your family, friends & co-workers.

Isaiah 6:8- "I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
It is with great sorrow that we offer our sincerest condolences on the loss of Officer Pomales. As police cadets, we have been taught a great many things but one cannot teach how to cope with the loss of a brother in this new family we have been welcomed into. What we have learned is that this calling is not for the weak, the timid, or the faint of heart/character. Armed with that knowledge we may not have known the individual but we do know the type of man and can be eternally grateful for the ultimate sacrifice given in the protection of others. Our Thoughts and prayers are with you,

While it is no consolation for your loss, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of CO Pomales.
While I did not have the privilege to have known him personally, I am certain that he has found a place in heaven through his selfless service to those he swore to protect.
Rest in peace my friend; those of us who remain will cover your post on the thin blue line.

I am a Warrior...
I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

To the family and friends of Officer Casimiro Pomales and his fellow officers:
On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Casimiro tragically died.
To Officer Pomales' family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in the Bay Area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Casimiro gave to his community and the citizens of New York, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 28, 2011.
