On the one year anniversary of David's death, I wish we could bottle up his dedication and enthusiasm for policing and life. A sprinkling of his spirit around the department right now would do wonders for everyone!!! Never forget!!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heat's embrace today.

Rest In Peace

Officer Moore,

Your legacy speaks for itself. It speaks volumes that everyone who I've had the pleasure of meeting as a recruit in the 8th IMPD class has nothing but the best to say about you. Your work ethic, your dedication to serving, being a friend, a brother, an officer, a son; You're loved deeply! You made the ultimate sacrifice in doing what you loved! I aspire each day, as we traverse the David Spencer Moore wing of the IMPD training academy, to be more like you. Keep guiding us! Rest in Peace!

Sir, I have not had the privilege of meeting you, but I am reminded daily of the integrity, professionalism and commitment you exhibited. You left a legacy that someone in my place could only hope to one day achieve. You are a symbol of what the 8th Recruit Class strives to be and we will honor your name. Thank you for being you. We are all inspired by you and are eternally gracious for your service.

Officer Moore,

I am a member of the 8th Recruit Class and it is an honor to walk in your footsteps. Every day, I see your picture on the wall and it reminds me of your courage, selfless service, and dedication to this community and the IMPD family. The stories of your service inspire me and I will strive daily to honor your memory in everything that I do. I can only hope to be half the officer that you were. I never had the privilege of knowing you but I will never forget you.

Just thinking of you David. Tomorrow will be one year since God took you from us. I imagine your doing your duty walking the gold roads in Heaven. My kids talk about you often, especially my daughter. She is going to bake Jo some cookies to cheer her up. Know that we think of you often and continue to surround your family with love and protection, just like you did. Rest In Peace David.

I am a recruit in the 8th recruit class, and we are the first class to have the honor to train in the wing dedicated in your honor. I did not have the great honor of knowing you, but I know many who did. I have already heard many stories of what an outstanding officer you were, and how much you were loved by the IMPD family. You inspire me to train that much harder every day so that I can honor your memory and protect our city and our brothers and sisters as you did.

Officer Moore,
Although I never had the honor in meeting you, I've heard nothing but the best about you not only as an officer, but a person in general. I am currently with the 8th IMPD Recruit Class and it is an HONOR to be the first class to start our training in the new wing dedicated to you, and the other fallen officers. Everyday we line up in a hallway facing pictures and dates of all the fallen officers, and everyday it touches me the same as it did the first day of class...your mother was there to help open the wing and the tears strolling down her face with pride, honor, and sadness, had an everlasting affect on me. I try everyday to honor you and the rest of the fallen officers and I hope you know while you are looking down that you are and never will be forgotten!

DAVID,
TOMORROW MARKS THE ONE YEAR ANNIVARSARY OF YOUR DEATH. IT HAS BEEN ROUGH FOR ALL OF US THAT HAVE BEEN LEFT BEHIND. IT SEEMS LIKE JUST YESTERDAY WE WERE LIVING THE NIGHMARE BUT THEN WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES AND PICTURE YOUR FACE AND IMAGINE YOUR VOICE IT SEEMS LIKE A LIFE TIME AGO. I MISS YOU SO MUCH. WHEN I START FEELING DOWN I JUST THINK ABOUT ALL THE LAUGHS WE SHARED AND HOW WHEN WE WERE TOGETHER NOTHING IN THE WORLD MATTERED WE WERE JUST BIG KIDS. PEOPLE SAY YOU ARE NOW AN ANGEL BUT SINCE YOUR DEATH I HAVE REALIZED YOU WERE BORN AN ANGEL. THE WAY YOU LIVED YOUR LIFE WHILE YOU WERE HERE AND WHAT YOU CONTINUE TO DO FOR US JUST PROVES THAT. THANK YOU DAVID FOR MAKING MY LIFE BRIGHTER. I LOVE YOU DAVID SPENCER.

David,

I never met you but someone I love knew you well. From witnessing the sorrow your passing brought, I know you were a great man and an amazing friend. I often think about you and all the officer's that have made the ultimate sacrifice for humanity. Please know that your courage is not forgotten or wasted. Your life stands as a pledge for many to "be Moore"... do better. For all those who have loved you, I mourn too.
