My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of Officer Yaslowitz.
While no one who wears a badge wants to be put into such a situation, you put yourself into the line of fire to protect those whom you might not have even known despite the danger. While I did not have the privilege to have known him personally, I am certain that he has found a place in heaven.
Rest in peace my friend; those of us who remain will cover your post on the thin blue line.

Isaiah 6:8- "I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."
It is with great sorrow that we offer our sincerest condolences on the loss of Officer Yaslowitz. As police cadets we have been taught a great many things but one cannot teach how to cope with the loss of a brother in this new family we have been welcomed into. What we have learned is that this calling is not for the weak, the timid, or the faint of heart/character. Armed with that knowledge we may not have known the individual but we do know the type of man and can be eternally grateful for the ultimate sacrifice given in the protection of others. Our thoughts and prayers are with you,
