I am very sadden by this senseless act of violence against the very persons who protect and serve us. This is an example of how our country has fallen to the way side. There is no respect for authority. To the bereaved family I share in your sorrow

I just wanted you all to know that we are all thinking and praying for the families of the fallen officers and the wounded. Words cannot properly address our heartfelt thoughts as your department and families go through these tough times.

We lost Offcier Carlos Ledesma this summer with two others wounded. It will never make sense to me why this happens. so, over the next difficult week please remember that you are not standing alone. We may be states away but we are standing right there with you as law enforcement brothers. God Bless,

As I sit & stare at this computer screen, I find myself speechless as to what to say. I cannot convey the amount of pain I feel, yet I did not know this officer. For believing in what you do, for attempting to keep our community safe, for all you have done over the past two decades I thank you. Family members - please know you're all in my thoughts and prayers. Keep eachother close. Reflect on your memories. Know she is will continue to protect you.

I was once Detective Amanda Haworth's supervisor and I found her to be professional and proficient at work, and a dedicated parent off duty. She volunteered for the unit where she was assigned when she died in the line of duty and her death deeply saddens me. I am appalled that Congressman Alcee Hastings, an impeached federal judge, would use this tragedy for the political purpose of pushing his anti gun agenda. The real message here is that society is blessed that there are others who would place themselves in jeopardy to protect the rest of us. God bless you Amanda.

My condolences to the families and co-workers of Officer Haworth and Officer Castillo. This tragic event serves as an example of the dangers police officers face on a daily basis that all too often is neither understood nor appreciated by many in the public. These brave officers are heroes, not because of the way they died, but because of the way they lived, serving and protecting the public. May God bless those left behind who will miss these two fine officers.
