Reflections for Police Officer Larry James Nehasil

I never had the honor of meeting Officer Nehasil, but as a fellow police officer I feel I knew him well by his character. Larry Chose a path in life that is chosen by few but needed by many, that of a protector. Larry CHOSE to put himself in harms way for others, first as a police officer, and then by his choice of assignments. It is these choices that make Larry a hero. "It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived."

For Larry's family, friends, and coworkers at the Livonia Police Department, I hope you can find some comfort in the number of entries left here on this site. Larry was a member of a very large family, that of law enforcement, and he will be forever remembered "A HERO". From myself and all the members of the Dearborn Heights PD......

Nehasil Family,

I want to express my condolences to you. I always wanted to be a police officer, but it wasn't in the cards. That never changed my high respect of any police officers especially ones like Larry who gave the ultimate for his community.
I will pray for your family during these sad times.
Keep your spirits high and God bless!
