Reflections for Police Officer Christopher Anthony Matlosz
I became aware of this website only recently. As I looked through it I was shocked at the number of men and women that are killed each year while keeping me, my family and all of us in the country safe. When is it going to stop. May God Bless Officer Matlosz. My heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to his fiance, family, friends and fellow officers. God Bless all those men and women that serve and protect.

"My Brother"
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was idealistic and believed he could make a difference.
He was immensely proud of the uniform and the badge and what they represent.
He felt privileged to be of service to his department, his community and to his country.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was friendly, courteous, and polite, yet firm.
He laughed and joked, but was serious when necessary.
He was competent, trained, and professional.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He had a strong sense of right and wrong and became
frustrated when true justice became sidetracked.
He felt the sharp criticism that goes with the job, but he
never wavered.
He stood by and for his fellow officers.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He longed for his family during the long hours.
He worried about them during his shifts and the lonely
weekends, holidays and midnights when they were apart.
He felt guilty about the lost time, but knew his calling
and prayed they would understand.
He was a cop.
Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was a good son, a loving husband, and a devoted father.
He was dedicated to the profession and cared about the
people he served.
He wanted to do the best job that he could and strived to
be the best he could be.
He was a good citizen and a good neighbor.
He was a cop.
Yes, I did know him.
He was a cop, he was my Brother.
Rest easy Brother Christopher, we have the watch...
”I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
---Isaiah 6:8
You answered the call and made the ultimate sacrifice. Rest easy in God's kingdom and watch over us as we continue the battle here on earth!!!

Rest in Peace and my prayers are with your family and friends, but also to his fiance. It was something sent to my daughter when she lost her fiance Josh Norris in line of duty in 2007.
A LETTER FROM HEAVEN
To my fiance', some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and fellow officers of Officer Matlosz.
While no one who wears a badge wants to be put into such a situation, you put yourself into the line of fire to protect those whom you might not have even known despite the danger. While I did not have the privilege to have known him personally, I am certain that he has found a place in heaven.
Rest in peace my friend; those of us who remain will cover your post on the thin blue line.

My nephew, Police Officer Jason C. Marles, lost his life prematurely and in a horrific manner Thankgiving Day 2010. Our family also lost three other very close family members to deaths, back to back to Jason's. My heart truly and deeply feels your pain, anger and overwhelming grief. My prayers for your entire family to be able to bear your tragic loss of Christopher with trust in the Lord for a wonderful and beautiful future for our reuniting with our loved ones in a wonderful place called Heaven. When the pain and anger sets in, give it to the Lord. When the grief is a constant, lean on the Lord for HOPE!! Our Lord has a plan, amidst the evil and confusion. Do not give up on HIM or HOPE!! Without it, we are empty. I have HOPE for the Lord and Heaven and will not waiver through my suffering and grief of what this life and earth dishes out. This is my comfort and strength. This is my passage on my journey of grief. My prayers that your family will find comfort and peace through "God's Future Plan of Heaven". Your tragic, heart wrenching loss of your sweet and loving Christopher will someday have an answer to your "Why?". Lovingly, Aunt Linda of Jason C.Marles.
