Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Suzanne Michelle Hopper
I think of you every time I drive past Enon on my way to or from school.
Even though I did not have the honor of meeting you personally, I have heard from my friends who worked with you what a great person you were. Your service and heroism will never be forgotten.

Although your watch may be done, and you have been layed to rest, we will always remember you as the best. I will never forget shadowing you and how professional and warm you were. You had a huge heart and opened it to all. You were witty and intelligent. May you continue to watch over us and keep us safe. You did a wonderful job 12-69. You are greatly missed and thought of everyday!

Suzanne,
Over the past year I've told your story to so many other law enforcement officers, and about all the great things you did. You were an amazing police officer and an even better person! I always think back on what you taught me the times I shadowed with you and will never forget it.
I continue EVERY day to remember you, to pray for your family and for your brothers and sisters at CCSO. I will never forget you.
Please continue to look down on all of us and keep us safe each day and until we meet again one day, I will continue to remember that smile and all the good you did for so many as an example of what it is to be a Law Enforcement Officer.
Rest in peace, sister.

To the family and friends of Deputy Suzanne Hopper, her fellow deputies, and most especially to Deputy Hopper:
We honor your service to your community as a police officer and you will always be remembered and revered. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of our entire family, I wish to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Suzanne was killed in the line of duty. It is obvious she was well-loved by many and well-respected by her peers as reflected in the loving reflections left for her.
May her loved ones continued to be supported by their law enforcement family and other police survivors. Our family grieves with you and for you. To Suzanne's family, you are in my heart's embrace today. As both Christmas and the anniversary date are fast approaching, I know this is a particularly difficult time.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the many years of distinquished service Suzanne gave to her community and the citizens of Ohio, and the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on January, 2011

As the one year anniversary of this even approaches, I can still remember the call. The call from my upset family member that use to watch her son. Then the news coverage I would watch as I would sit at work(at a police department). Then the inevitable teletype sent out nationwide to all agencies with instructions on where and when the funeral would be held. And the final E.O.W. notification. Working for a Law Enforcement agency and being a basic recruit at a local academy, it hit's home when a friend makes the ultimate sacrifice. Rest in peace my firend.

I wish I had been able to know this fine example of a police officer. If half the things that were said about her at her funeral are true then we should all hold her up as an example. Her sacrifice will not be in vain; even today we used examples from this tragedy to enhance our training that we might carry on the fight and continue to stand in the gap. Rest easy, sister, we got this.
