To the family and friends of officer Smith, I send my condolences. Thank you for your dedication and ultimate sacrifice. We as a patrol family are dealing with the loss of one of our own Troopers this week and it is truly hard. As I read the reflections that have been left by hundreds of officers, it is truly heart felt to realize how many people are praying for the family members and fellow officers. Thank You to all who pray for us. Go rest easy Officer Smith. May God Bless your family !

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for their’s will be the kingdom of Heaven...

And blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Ofc. J. Smith, 10-7 for the remainder... God Bless. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

My deepest thoughts go to your family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time. I hope that they find solace in the knowledge that your service was honorable, and done with compassion and dedication.

I have trained many young officers over the years, and I know how difficult your passing must be for your training officers and supervisory staff...I managed to survive during the most difficult of circumstances a few times before, and I thank God every day for it...I wish that your fortunes had been as good as mine have been.

I wish I had been there for you, sister, and we would have taken this animal down together, or I would have proudly fallen beside you while trying.

Salute.

I didn't know your precious daughter, but it is obvious that you raised a great girl. I pray that you feel the prayers of our community. It is so hard to understand such evil. Your daughter gave her life to try and bring hope. When you feel like you can't go the next step, know that you are being covered with prayers for strength, comfort and assurance that we have eternity.
